Walter De La Mare was an English poet, short story writer, and novelist who lived from 25 April 1873 to 22 June 1956. He is most known for his works for children and his ghost stories, the latter of which was a favorite of H. P. Lovecraft. Songs of Childhood, his debut collection of poetry, was released in 1902.
